Amber In Autumn

Book 3, Seasons of Destiny Series

Amber Reyes gave up her only serious love relationship to take her dream job as principal of the elementary school in Destiny, California, her beloved hometown. Two years later, Amber has her days full, but her evenings empty. She yearns to marry and have a family, but the lack of eligible men leaves her questioning if she made a mistake coming home.

Devastated by his ex-wife’s volatile life and tragic death, Max Burnett moves his grief-stricken six-year-old twins, Kate and Will, to Destiny, hoping that the town of his youth can offer a positive change. Believing himself too damaged to love or be loved, Max doesn’t think he’ll ever meet a woman who could be his partner in life and a mother to his kids.

As the principal of Kate and Will’s school, Amber takes on the delicate challenge of helping the troubled children adjust but dealing with Max is a completely different matter. Their initial sparring leads to a powerful attraction between them. But, as Max and Amber’s feelings deepen, so does the turmoil surrounding the kids. How can Amber and Max heal the wounds of the past to allow them a positive future?

From the Author

After writing Books 1 and 2, I had come to know Amber Reyes well enough that I understood what she’d need to find in an ideal husband and partner. I knew that, as an elementary school principal, she would have seen all kinds of family situations and how those affect children and she’d know what she did and didn’t want. She’d also understand how unlikely it would be for her to find her ideal partner in Destiny. What she’d need would be a man who’d choose Destiny over a large dating pool, just as she had.

Such a man wouldn’t come without baggage. I needed to help her find a man whose baggage was as adorable as Will and Kate, Max’s six-year-old twins. Since the course of love never did run smooth (thank you, Master Shakespeare), I knew Amber and Max would have to hit bumps on their road to commitment. I hope you find their journey rewarding.
